COLORADO BAR MUSIC
Fort Collins packs more live music per square block than almost anywhere in Colorado. Old Town alone has a half-dozen bars with regular bands, and the brewery district keeps stages busy all weekend.
Surfside 7 is the punk-and-indie dive of record. Magic Rat books local and touring acts right off the square, and Ace Gillett's runs live jazz practically every night in its underground lounge — one of the busiest calendars in the state.
When you want a real stage: Aggie Theatre (touring rock, hip-hop, jam), Washington's (mid-size touring acts in a restored landmark), and Avogadro's Number (folk, bluegrass, and songwriter shows since the '70s).
The FoCo brewery scene doubles as a music circuit: Pour Brothers and Konstruct Brewery put bands on all weekend, and Sunset Lounge covers the late-night end.
