Across the city, musicians are playing in bars and small venues every night, but the information
is scattered. This platform brings those events together in one place so anyone can quickly see
what's happening and decide where to go.
The goal is to make it easy to have an unplanned night out — to check what's playing nearby,
pick a place, and go see what happens.
Live bar music has always been part of a simple human tradition: people gathering in a room to listen,
talk, and share a moment together. In a time when more of life happens online, these spaces still
offer something real.
This platform also exists to support the musicians and venues that keep local music scenes alive.
Sometimes the best nights start the same way — with nowhere in particular to go, just the
sense that somewhere in the city the music is playing and the lights are still on.

Bar Hop rebuilt around walking — routes now keep every stop within about a mile of the last one, and each stop shows the walk to the next ("8 min walk · 0.4 mi")
The times actually work now: each stop's window accounts for the walk and for when the next band goes on, instead of every stop claiming the same 45 minutes
Bar Hop is no longer just six metros — any town whose venues are close enough to walk between now gets a route when it has the shows. Durango, Vail, Salida, Aspen, Breckenridge, Golden, Snowmass, Glenwood Springs, Paonia, Trinidad and more have turned up so far
Two nearby venues counts as a hop, which is how most small towns actually work — the page tells you how many stops you're getting
The city picker lists the towns with a route on the night you're viewing, and a "Coming up" row underneath points to the ones playing later — "Salida · Fri, Aug 7" — so small towns stay discoverable without the picker ever silently changing your date
Any night of the week, not just Friday and Saturday, with a date picker and quick picks for tonight and the weekend
"New Route" gives you a genuinely different evening, and a shared link now shows your friend the same route you saw
Each stop links through to the venue's page, and nearby venues that didn't fit the schedule are listed underneath

⚙ How It Works
1
Scrape
Automated scrapers collect event data from venue websites across Colorado every day
2
Clean
Data is standardized — dates, times, venue names, and cities are normalized
3
Publish
Events appear on the site, searchable by artist, venue, city, date, and type
4
Notify
Subscribers get email digests with events matching their preferences
⚠️ Things to Know
Always double-check times with the venue
Heads Up
Event times are pulled from venue websites automatically. Sometimes a venue lists door time vs.
show time, or the scraper picks up the wrong field. When in doubt, check the venue's website or
give them a call before heading out.
Spotify links aren't always accurate
Heads Up
Spotify artist links are matched automatically by name. Sometimes a local band shares a name with
a different artist on Spotify, so the link may point to the wrong profile. If something looks off,
it probably is.
We can't scrape Facebook events
Limitation
Many bars — especially smaller ones — post their events exclusively on Facebook. Facebook
blocks automated scraping, so those events won't appear here. If your favorite spot is missing, this
is likely why. Suggest the venue anyway
and we'll see what we can do.
Some venues aren't listed yet
Limitation
Colorado has hundreds of bars with live music. We're adding new venues regularly, but there
are still gaps. If you know a spot we're missing,
let us know.
Event types are assigned by venue, not by show
Good to Know
The "Bar," "Brewery," "Venue," etc. labels reflect the venue type, not the specific event.
A jazz show at a brewery still shows as "Brewery." We're working on genre tagging down the road.
Data refreshes daily
Good to Know
The scrapers run once a day, usually in the early morning. If a venue updates their calendar
mid-day, it may not appear until the next refresh. Last-minute additions or cancellations
may not be reflected.
Eastern plains and mountain towns are limited
Limitation
Most venues along the Front Range have scrapeable websites. In smaller towns, many bars
rely solely on Facebook or word of mouth for event promotion, so coverage is thinner
outside of the metro areas.
Venues we know about but can't scrape
Limitation
A few venues still can't be reliably pulled in. The good news: as of July 2026 most
Facebook-only venues (Lakewood Grill, Gold Pan Saloon, Bootstrap Brewing, the Pueblo bars,
Storm Peak, and ~30 more) are now covered by our Facebook events pipeline, and Mesa Theater
in Grand Junction is back after its site unblocked us. Here's what remains:
